Grade II listed garden flat refurbishment in London
A lower-ground garden flat in a Grade II listed Victorian crescent. The plan was incredibly deep, with only a small central light well, covered by a clumsy timber skylight that let in neither light nor air.

A problem solved
By giving up some internal floor space to reinstate an external light well, and removing two of its structural sides, we brought much-needed daylight and ventilation into the centre of the flat.
Added luxury
The garden side became a vast living, kitchen and dining space with a new frameless glass enclosure. A generous rear extension let the master bedroom sit in a quiet, private part of the plan while still enjoying garden views.
Complexity mastered
Removing structural walls at the base of a six-storey building, with multi-million-pound flats above, demanded extreme precision. It was completed with no movement or issues to the flats above.
