Edwardian house, frameless glass extension and swimming pool at Fife Road, Richmond
Fife Road, Richmond · A completed Jewel project
Built by Jewel

An Edwardian home, opened to the garden.

Our Fife Road project brought contemporary living to an existing Edwardian house. A frameless glass extension connected the open-plan interior to a landscaped garden, alongside new foundations, a twenty-metre pool and spa, a gym and a hydraulic car lift.

Planning your home

Consider the whole home.

An extension should work with the rooms, garden and daily routines around it. We start by understanding how you use your home, then assess the layout, structure and specification. That gives the design and the build a shared starting point.

How we work
Planning your project

Planning work in Richmond.

Can a contemporary extension work with an older house?

It can, provided the design responds to the existing building and the proposed work is feasible. At Fife Road, a frameless glass extension connected an Edwardian house to its garden. The right approach for your property depends on its structure, layout and any permissions required.

What affects the cost of a renovation?

The main factors are the size and condition of the property, structural work, access, specification and finishes. After assessing your property and requirements, we provide a detailed, itemised quote. Clear decisions about the scope and materials help establish a realistic budget.

How long will the work take?

The programme depends on the project’s scope, design, permissions and material lead times. We provide a project-specific time estimate after assessing the work. Planning and procurement need to be considered alongside the construction period.

Can we live in the house during a renovation?

It depends on the extent of the work. Smaller projects may allow you to remain at home, while major structural alterations or work affecting essential services may require you to move out temporarily. We assess this during planning, with safety, access and disruption in mind.
