Jewel Dream Homes designed, executed and managed this complex transformation project on a ground floor flat in Warrington Crescent.

A lower ground floor garden flat refurbishment in a Grade II listed Victorian crescent. The footprint is incredibly deep, with only a small central light well to bring light into the centre of the plan. The existing layout had this area covered with a clumsy timber frame skylight, used as a separate room which provided neither light nor air to the surrounding spaces.
The prime garden aspect was given over to a vast living-kitchen-dining area with a new frameless glass enclosure to part of the existing light well. With a generous extension to the back of the building, this meant the master bedroom could be located in a quiet and private part of the plan opening onto the external light well and still benefiting from the views of the garden.
When the client approached us the flat was suffering from a severe lack of light, by removing some internal floor space to re-instate a small external light well here and removing two structural sides of the light well we were able to bring in the desperately needed natural light and ventilation into the centre of the plan.
Removing the structural walls to the bottom of this six-storey building of multi-million-pound flats above had to be done with extreme precision, never a challenge for Jewel. This was done, with no issues arising or movement to the flats above. With this being said, the enhancement to the quality of the space and layout more than compensated for the level of precision this required.
